The VVM abbreviation can stand for both 'Verified View Montages' and 'Visually Verified Montages'. More advanced than our traditional photomontages, VVMs are created using global positioning systems (GPS) and accurate surveying techniques, to ensure the 3D model is accurately and reliably positioned in its proposed context.
VVMs are photographic / cad hybrids that aim to show precisely what effect a future building will have on its context, using a method that is documented and repeatable. VVMs are increasingly requested as part of the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment component of planning applications. At iCreate, we adhere to the The Landscape Institute's guidelines on the creation of verifiable planning images [Guidelines for Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment, Second Edition 2002].

Planners and other decision-makers may specify a number of key viewpoints from which they wish to view the proposed development. To create a Verified View Montage, our role is to visit these locations, survey them, and use this data – in combination with GPS and height information – to position our 3D CAD model of the new development accurately on its site. These images are then submitted with a report demonstrating how we have arrived at the montage images, meaning they are verifiable and repeatable.

We usually require a minimum of 14 days to produce a set of Verified View Montages, and we operate throughout England and Wales. For more information, please call us to discuss your requirements.
