We were asked by Swansea County Council to assist them with a large scale public development project to help to visualize how Swansea City Centre would look in the future.
We worked in conjunction with Powell Dobson Architects to produce this fly-through and set of images of the proposed Welsh Assembly Government building in Aberystwyth.
Our client for this project was the architect of this commercial and retail development in Merthyr.
We were asked to develop a 3D flythrough of the new extension to the Harrogate International Centre, to enable the council to promote the scheme to the wider community.
Arriva Trains Wales and the Welsh Assembly Government have announced a major renovation of Swansea Railway Station.

Our presentation went very well and the flythrough was fantastic. To be honest I think everyone was a bit shocked, almost speechless! I couldn’t wait for James to press the button so I could watch their faces as it played. What a powerful Sales and Marketing tool! We had a vision of a...

Architects' drawings are often highly complex, and can be difficult even for Planning officers to interpret. And when so much is riding on the Planners appreciation of your proposed scheme, you need to do everything possible to ensure that the drawings are fully understood, and that the key benefits of your design are plain to see.
Increasingly, planning departments are asking that applications are supported by Photomontage and 3D visualisations, which presents a fantastic opportunity for you to 'sell' the scheme in a way that was never possible with CAD plans alone.

Architectural renderings are an effective, visual way of presenting proposed developments to planning officers and other key decision-makers, bringing 2D drawings and sketches to life and inspiring confidence in key decision-makers. Equipped with reliable photomontages and 3D images of the new buildings, Planning committees are at last able to make decisions based on more than just a hazy interpretation of the plans.
As a result, our clients find that planning committee decisions are better informed, their conclusions are reached more quickly, and their feedback is clearer and more constructive. The graphics can also form a valuable part of the design and decision-making process, providing a group of people with something tangible to discuss and consider.
In some situations, public relations are also key, and it's critically important to get the local community onboard. 3D visualisations are a vital communication tool, presenting new developments in a way that offers broad appeal and addresses any fears or concerns. By clearly showing the reality of how a new development will impact upon its location, you can ensure that people base their judgements on fact, not fiction. And by bringing the scene to life, you're able to emphasise the all positive benefits that it could bring.

At iCreate, we have been working with architects, planning consultants and their clients since 2003, using 3D to help sell new developments to planners and other decision-makers. The accurate and realistic photomontages, static renderings and animations we produce can be enhanced with dusk views, accurate shadow maps, verified view montages (VVMs), 3D terrain models, aerial viewpoints, before-after comparisons and much more. Other benefits of 3D include flexibility, realism, the ability to view the site from all angles and the ease of making revisions where necessary.
And emerging new technologies also offer great potential. iCreate's revolutionary iViewer 'realtime 3D' solution enables us to publish 3D models in an interactive format. This means the end user - you, the planners, the public - can navigate around the model in 3D space to view it from any angle, with no special hardware or software required. This is an immensely powerful presentation tool when it comes to negotiations with Planning Officers and presenting schemes for public consultation.
